Content: Please join us for a reading of original work from poet Yahya Ashour (@yahyaashour98), followed by a discussion with writer Eman Abdelhadi (@eabdelhadi)! Yahya Ashour | يحيى عاشور is an exiled Gazan poet and awarded author, contributor to multiple anthologies of poetry and writing, including the recent “Poppies for Palestine” and “Heaven Looks Like Us” from @haymarketbooks. Both of these will be available at the event, proceeds going to @grassroots_gaza and @bypa.bypalestine. Eman Abdelhadi is an organizer, writer and scholar. She is assistant professor at the University of Chicago, where her research focuses on gender, migration and religion. Abdelhadi organizes with Faculty and Staff for Justice in Palestine at UChicago, Scholars for Social Justice, Sociologists for Palestine, and other formations. She is also the co-author of the wonderful novel, Everything for Everyone: An Oral History of the New York Commune, 2052-2072 (Common Notions Press, 2022).
