Gender affirming care is healthcare. Healthcare is a human right.

The Trump administration doesn't believe in either of those things. They want to eliminate the limited access there already is to gender affirming care in this country by punishing providers and holding patients hostage in order to push their radical reactionary agenda.

But this is Chicago. We don't bow to bullies. And In light of recent reporting that Rush Hospital will "pause" puberty blockers and hormone replacement therapy for new patients under 18 years old, it's more important that ever that Chicago rallies in support of gender affirming healthcare for all. Rush follows the lead of Lurie Children’s Hospital which capitulated to the Trump administration by ending gender-affirming surgeries for patients 19 and under earlier this year. By doing so, these hospitals defy state laws such as the IL Human Rights Act and are consciously denying life-saving surgeries to minors, betraying patient care and community trust.
