There is a specter haunting the sciences -- the specter of dialectical materialism! In spite of the foundational contributions not just by Marxists but by Marx and Engels themselves to epistemology and philosophy of science, few in the fields they most influenced -- physics, ecology, molecular biology, etc. -- are aware of these radical roots. What these so-called scientists need is an education, so in honor of ONE YEAR OF SFTP CHICAGO, we're going to give it. Join us on December 5th at 7 p.m. at @thebeachchicago in Hyde Park for an evening with a little bit of history and theory and a lot of criticism of the state of science today. Together, we'll find a path to scientific liberation and perhaps even start to bring it about?

This event is public and should be fun for anyone curious about radical science. It is free and un-ticketed though we will be fundraising for the chapter resources, including more scientific equipment, printing, and venue rental.
