MESA (Manos Entrelazadas South Side Alliance) and the Illinois Venezuelan Alliance invite you to a bonfire at Cedillo's Fresh Produce's beautiful farm in Englewood. Join us for live music, Venezuelan hot chocolate (Toddy, iykyk), pastries (golfeados = Venezuelan cinnamon rolls), drinks (alcoholic and nonalcoholic), a raffle, and unlimited s'mores.

This will be MESA's second fundraiser for communities in Venezuela impacted by the June 2026 earthquakes. All donations will go directly to families and individuals in La Guaira, Caracas, and other areas impacted by the earthquakes. In August, we raised over $1,500 for Venezuelan communities. $1000 was sent directly to 10 households ($100 per family), and $500 went to a camp for families who lost their homes to purchase toiletries.

Though the earthquakes have left the news cycle, thousands of people in Venezuela remain displaced, millions are struggling to pay for basic necessities, and we continue to grief the 6,509+ (likely a severe undercount) who lost their lives. We're committed to supporting communities there by providing direct financial assistance in a way that respects people's privacy, dignity, and autonomy.

Solidarity knows no borders. Thank you for your solidarity with people in Venezuela.
