Content: On November 3, 2006, Chicago musician and antiwar activist immolated himself in protest against the then-raging war in Iraq, with hardly any coverage from local or national media. A grassroots campaign called "I Heard You Malachi" arose to raise awareness of Malachi's sacrifice. In early November 2026, with America mired in another war in the Middle East, a new campaign inspired by "I Heard You Malachi" will commemorate the 20thanniversary of the sacrifice of Malachi Ritscher with two events. This post marks details of one of those events. Commemoration of Malachi Ritscher online, via Zoom. The event will feature brief presentations as well as short films related to the sacrifice of Malachi Ritscher. Monday, November 2, 2026, 7PM Central Time.
