YOU'RE INVITED — Rooted Out West is an invitation to remember where we come from—and imagine where we're going.

On Aug. 29–30, join The TRiiBE for a FREE two-day community summit exploring memory, land and belonging alongside the publication of "Out West: In search of my ancestral home" by Editor-in-Chief Tiffany Walden.

✨ Day 1: Join us for a fireside chat with Mayor Brandon Johnson exploring the Great Migration, the Mississippi Delta floods of 1927 and 1937, and what environmental justice means for Chicago's West Side today.

✨ Day 2: Meet one-on-one with Westside Justice Center for free estate planning sessions designed to help families protect their legacies for generations to come.

📸 Bring your West Side memories: Throughout the weekend, we'll partner with Westside Historical Collective to archive the West Side. Bring photos of your family, homes, block parties, churches, schools, neighborhood landmarks — or any piece of West Side history you'd like preserved and digitized.

This gathering is about more than looking back. It's about preserving our stories, honoring our ancestors and planting seeds for the future.
