Content: Join us for a vigil honoring the life of Corey Ruiz, who was executed by Madison Police on Wednesday July 22. On Wednesday, multiple MPD officers wrestled Ruiz to the ground and shot him at point-blank range, executing him in broad daylight. Large protests immediately followed in Madison, demanding Justice for Corey Ruiz and Community Control of the Police. As we honor Ruiz’ life, we must also recommit ourselves to the fight to stop police crimes, and build the power in our communities that we need to take the reins of policing and public safety in our cities. Those communities that have faced the brunt of police tyranny will be the ones to put an end to police killings, ICE kidnappings, and wrongful convictions. In coordination with the national call for action from @nationalaarpr we demand: Justice for Corey Ruiz! Community Control of the police now!
