Content: Join us on May 14th for a powerful documentary, “The Voice of Hind Rajab,” an award-winning 2025 documentary that follows the Red Crescent response during the killing of Hind Rajab, a six-year-old Palestinian girl, by the Israel Defense Forces during the Israeli invasion of the Gaza Strip. WHEN: Thursday, May 14th from 5:30-8:00 PM, Doors Open at 5:15 PM WHERE: Evanston Public Library (1st Floor Community Room), 1703 Orrington Ave, Evanston, IL 60201 The film documents Red Crescent volunteers receiving an emergency call: a 6-year-old girl, Hind Rajab, is trapped in a car under fire in Gaza, pleading for rescue. While trying to keep her on the line, they do everything they can to get an ambulance to her. The Voice of Hind Rajab has won multiple international awards and been called “a harrowing docudrama that makes a powerful appeal to humanity.” In the words of film critic Brian Tallerico, “…true action sometimes requires being confronted with visions of true horror instead of just reading or hearing about them. ‘The Voice of Hind Rajab’ is the confrontation its victim deserves.” The documentary opened the first edition of the Gaza International Festival for Women’s Cinema in Deir al-Balah on 26 October 2025. We hope you will join us for this difficult but important documentary and discussion.
