Content: Come learn how we can protect our neighbors and our public schools in Illinois! Join us in Franklin Park for story time, art stations, singing, and more. Why May Day? On May 1st, educators, parents, public servants, and neighbors are coming together to fight for our kids’ future. Protecting public education is a key way to defend against the attacks on our democracy. We are coming together for a national day of action in support of stronger, safer, and more dignified communities. The event is early enough to attend the main rally at Union Park, Chicago (https://chicagoactivismhub.org/detail/2446/). Please note: A core principle behind all our events is a commitment to nonviolent action. We expect all participants to seek to de-escalate any potential confrontation with those who disagree with our values and to act lawfully at these events. Weapons of any kind, including those legally permitted, should not be brought to events. RSVP at https://www.mobilize.us/mayday/event/940990/
