Content: Join author Deborah Jiang Stein for a discussion of Lucky Tomorrow. The book reflects on identity, community, and the ways people navigate systems that often render them invisible. Stein’s work invites readers to consider how storytelling can illuminate hidden lives, challenge stigma, and open new possibilities for justice and healing. The event will feature a reading, conversation, and audience Q&A. About Deborah Jiang-Stein: Jiang-Stein is an award-winning writer, public speaker, activist, and founder of the unPrison Project, a nonprofit dedicated to empowering and inspiring incarcerated women and girls with life skills, mentoring, and support for successful reentry into society. She was born in a federal prison to a mother serving time, spent her early years in foster care, and later turned her life experiences into powerful storytelling and advocacy work. Through her writing and speaking, she shines a light on overlooked lives and builds empathy, while her nonprofit work fosters literacy, critical thinking, and hope for those affected by incarceration. Food will be served. Register here: https://events.uchicago.edu/event/261685-deborah-jiang-stein-book-talk
