Ramadan 2026 - Building New Futures

This Ramadan, we're moving our dollars into our local communities. Join Muslims for Just Futures Chicago for the launch of our Capital for Just Futures program at two conversation-centered iftars, in partnership with Muslim-owned businesses Pak Sweets and Nabala Cafe.

We'll break bread, build together, and share our new MJF Business Hub Resource Guide.

Over the past several months, immigration enforcement and federal occupations have devastated small businesses across Chicago. From Devon Avenue to immigrant neighborhoods citywide, owners report sharp revenue declines.

All proceeds from iftar ticket sales will directly support local, community-owned businesses in Chicago.

📌 Please note: Each iftar can only accommodate up to 18-20 people.

While we are offering them for free, if you are able to, we encourage you to make contributions so MJF can support/resource local businesses through our Capital for Just Futures program

Ethical entrepreneurship is deeply rooted in our tradition, it is an invaluable service to humanity and a pathway to building collective wealth. But what happens when divestment drains our neighborhoods and immigration raids destabilize working-class families?

Together, we'll ask:
* How can we invest in our community’s ability to build capital power and shape stronger economic futures?
* What is the economic impact of state violence on our communities?
* How can we mobilize our resources to protect and strengthen our neighborhoods?

Join us this Ramadan as we build, invest, and imagine just futures together.

THIS EVENT WILL ALSO BE HELD on Thursday, March 5th, 5:00PM @ Nabala Cafe, 4660 N. Broadway Ave, Chicago
