Posted by Andy1917

Content:

Join us for a sentence mitigation workshop planned and hosted by PNAP Organizing Fellow Khadzi!

Food provided!

This workshop provides a comprehensive, law-based introduction to sentencing mitigation in Illinois. Participants will learn how Illinois courts are required to evaluate mitigating evidence when determining whether to withhold or minimize a sentence of imprisonment.

The workshop explains the legal purpose of mitigation, how judges weigh mitigating factors, and how effective mitigation advocacy can significantly impact sentencing outcomes. Using statutory language and real-world applications, participants will gain practical tools to identify, develop, and present mitigation evidence in sentencing hearings.
