Courageous resisters standing up to the ICE/CBP Gestapo in Chicago have faced a brutal campaign of repression from Federal, State and Chicago police departments.

On January 10th, Behind Enemy Lines is going to put the people responsible for this repression on trial. We invite people who have faced repression to share their stories: Come in person and testify, or send us testimony to be read. And we'll put the crimes of this system before a jury of the people.

In 2025, Donald Trump's ICE/CBP invasion of Chicago, dubbed operation Midway Blitz, was a systematic campaign of extrajudicial kidnapping sowing terror and ripping families apart, and left at least person, Silverio Villegas-Gonzalez, dead. In the face of this onslaught, thousands of people courageously rose up, taking action to protect their neighbors, alert others to the presence of the kidnappers, and protesting the ICE black site in Broadview, Illinois. What those resistors have gotten from ICE/CBP, the Illinois State Police and the Chicago Police Department has been a brutal campaign of repression: bullets, tear gas, batons, and handcuffs. While Chicago Mayor Brandon Johnson, and Illinois Governor JB Pritzker have denounced Trump and ICE/CBP with stirring rhetoric, in practice the Illinois State and Chicago Police Departments have been standing side by side with the ICE-Gestapo, making a mockery of "Sanctuary" laws in the process.
