Content: Come out for a one-night book club where we’ll read from IDOC-banned book “Resistance Behind Bars: The Struggles of Incarcerated Women” by Victoria Law, and hear from currently & formerly incarcerated community members on their experiences with- and resistance to- censorship and repression behind bars. We’ll engage in small group conversations, get up to speed on the current nonsense happening in IDOC with mail scanning, censorship and proposed prison rebuilds, and share ways to take action & be in solidarity with folks inside. Books are provided for formerly incarcerated folks and we’ll have reading materials to share. Those who are able are also encouraged to purchase a copy in advance, available from PCB! “Examining daily struggles against appalling prison conditions and injustices, “Resistance” documents both collective organizing and individual resistance in the U.S.” For more information about Prison Censorship please see our Midwest Prison Censorship Update 2025
